    Default Record NJ cobia

Just saw on Ch. 6 app that a Mayfair fisherman caught a 90.6 lb cobia off of Cape May last Friday. Len Andalis broke the old record by 3 lbs.
God Bless America and God Bless Kate Smith!

That's my buddy, and dock neighbor. I was there to witness his return to the dock Friday afternoon and enjoy the excitement/party that ensued after he weighed it in at SJM and we googled the NJ state record and knew he had it. SJM kept it in the cooler for state authorities to examine it Saturday. 1st Cobia he's ever caught, he threw the 6 oz spro he was Flounder fishing with near a buoy and as soon as it hit the water he hooked up and battled the fish, on get this 17lb mono on a Shimano bait runner, mh 7 ftr spinning rod for 1.5 plus hrs before finally landing it. I have several pics...I'll try to post them..

Awesome. I’ve yet to witness a south jersey cobia but they keep on showing up. Great catch! You never know what you are going to get out there.
