David599- yes, we are going to have the scale open at noon. Only a handful of boats take advantage of the overnight element, so if you catch one early, be the first boat to the dock and tie up, hang out. I'd make sure it is clear that you were the first to the dock if you show up prior to the scales being open. Additionally, you are required to call in your catch to a committee boat. Be sure to do that and get to the dock. We expect that everyone is in the for the cause and will be on the up and up. We will do our very best to make sure everything is straight forward. I don't expect any issues.

Can't wait - with all the makos starting to filter through the canyons now this should be a good one. Looking forward to fishing it this year with some real heros!

We are in. Also of note Rella's Tavern in Briele will be donating 20% of all sales this Sat may 23rd to Operation Restored Warrior. It's a great cause and i'm sure the tournament will continue to grow every year.

SunkCost- we put half of each entry fee to the purse. So each entry fee of $450 is split with $225 to help veterans and $225 for Prize money. Last year was our first year and we had 43 boats. Not bad for first year and especially considering that a big storm blew threw the night before and the ocean was rough. Rough seas kept a good number of boats at the docks.

Calcutta is 75% to Winners and 25% to Charity for Veterans.

Looks good guys. What was the payout/how many boats did you have last year? Great cause.

Does the base entry go to charity and tourney expenses while the calcutta is the take home?

    Good luck

Warriors for Warriors Charity Shark Tournament June 12/13 benefiting Veterans

Seems there are a lot of Makos around already!!!

Just reminding everyone that we are having the 2nd annual Warriors for Warriors Charity Shark Tournament on June 12 and 13 out of Manasquan Inlet. (can fish out of any inlet as long as you weigh in at Crystal Point in Point Pleasant). Our tournament is the same format and time as the Brett Bailey Mako Rodeo so you can fish both and have the chance to win two tournaments with the same shark.

All of our money raised goes to Operation Restored Warrior, a combat veteran operated organization where 95% of all money they received goes DIRECTLY to helping heal our warriors suffering with PTSD and contemplating or having tried to commit suicide.

Entry is $450 -Mako Calcutta $300 -Mako Calcutta $100 -Thresher Calcutta $100.

80% of purse goes to 1st place, 20% of purse goes to 2nd place. $3000 prize for the first qualifying mako weighed in.
Each boat weighing in a qualifying mako gets name in a drawing for $500. 1st and 2nd place trophies are engraved Avet Reels.

Early Entry gets $50 discount and name in a drawing for an Avet Reel. Captains Meeting is at River Rock in Brick and will have some nice door prizes. Fund Raiser/Afterparty is on June 13th at River Rock from 7-11pm and will have Paul Hebert from Wicked Tuna there as well as a Former Commander at SEAL Team 6. Will have food, beer, wine and an amazing silent and live auction for many items, including very special, priceless military memorabilia from the Global War on Terrorism. Tickets are $50 and available through the website.

Please spread the word so we can have another great tournament and raise a lot of money to help save the lives of our Veterans.
