This is sad news... our sport has lost one of our pioneers....and a little bit sadder for anyone that had the pleasure of meeting this fine gentleman who truly was a pioneer of saltwater flyfishing. Lefty was a long way from a "buddy" of mine but with all the Fishing Trade Shows I attended and the Flyfishing shows I did, we always did say hello and I never missed the chance to BS with him a bit when I got the chance. To watch him to demos at the show was truly like visual poetry.... so effortless, so efficient.

    Wonderful man.... very sad...

Sad to hear of his passing. I would say he had a great very rewarding life doing what he was so good at. Guys like him do not come along very often and flyfishing would not be where it is today without his life long contributions.

Wow, an innovative angler and by all accounts great guy.

Lefty's deceiver is also a personal fav, and the first sw fly I tied, and caught my first striper on.
