Better get your popcorn popped for this one! :D

I used to be a die hard 2 stroke proponent.

That said, I just re powered with Yamaha 4 strokes...love them to death. Quiet, economical, and tons of pull regardless of what internet rhetoric is running rampant about them not having torque.

Twin F150 Yammies will run that boat real nice.

I slapped a 115 etec on the back of my 17' mako I had....the engine I swear to god when I first turned it over...Icouldn't tell it was even running it was SO quiet!! I couldn't believe it!!!!

we have a F250 on the back of our Contender...again it's quiet as well...

If I were going to repower our Contender, I would seriously look into the Etec only because the work I can do on it vs not wanting to mess around with the yammie, that's because I'm a putz and don't know jack about jack...

But the Etec are very good on gas as well, and are very quiet. Can't go wrong with either motor.

How many hours on those 150's?

I might have them sold for you. I have two guys looking for used 150's.. BUT personally and flat-out I think you are nuts getting rid of them. Run them till one blows. The other one will get you home. Then sell them both, one running and a parts engine... Trust me, check the prices on outboard parts..even blown they are still worth money.

A pair of F150's would be nice power on that boat. So would Etec's and you could go 175 and 200hp at the same weight. It's a shame Yam doesn't have their F175hp version out yet. But with any new engines you'll never pay for them with better fuel mileage.

I just heard today Yellowfin boats is having a hard time getting Yam engines.. They have finished boats sitting waiting on engines. I couldn't believe it with all the boat manuf's shut down that used Yam engines you'd think they'd have plenty laying around. Especially after they eliminated model year designations. Just fill a few warehouses full and sell them as new stock..years after they were built. Sorry, but I'm just not crazy over some of Yams policies and part prices.

I think they're waiting on more of the new 4.2L motors.

If your Johnsons are 1996 or newer with the system check gauge (4 lights) then you do not need rigging. If your ready to close the deal at the show I can sell you a pair of 2010 Evinrude 150's, 1 standard rotation and the other counter for $17,995.00. Thats a installed price with using your rigging and props. You also keep your old engines to sell. This is a very special price for twins only and only good if the deal is closed at the show. I can lock the price in with a $500.00 deposit. They also come with the 5 year warranty. Your looking at a over $6,000.00 credit we are giving you. Now is the time if your really thinking about it.

As for 2 stroke vrs 4 stroke you need to look at each and see what offers you want your looking for.

Yami is waiting to liquidate their old line via sales at the Boat Shows. Article in Trade Only stated that the new Yami's will be coming out in May. Dealers have not yet been trained on the New Line of Engines.
