We did not do so well with the flat ones either started out east then west of 14 foot light. Loaded with croakers around there.
went further south to the anchorage E bouy area more croakers 3 short flounder.
tide seemed slack forever so we headed south to brandywine got a decent drift going down there 1.5 knots along channel edge for about 1hour then a south wind picked up and ended that.
End result 3 short weakfish, many croakers, many snapper blues,2 brown sharks
3 short flat ones.usual other junk
No keeper flounder:(
Went back to Haases with an empty box.
Ray.

Had exactly the same experience as you Paul.BUT decided to stick it out through the terrrible fishing and heat rather then go home and cut grass. On a whim, decided to fish the turn in the tide at Crossledge.

Bingo !!!! Just on the turn in less than an hour and a half picked up 2 keeper flatties(one 21");3 weakies:1 short and the other 2 exactly 19";6 blues about 26 ", and one monster croaker.Unbelievable.

Despite the great fishing couldn't take the heat anymore and headed in to clean fish and cut grass, decidedly a happier camper than in the AM.

Cross Ledge is NNW of the Maull, about 4 miles. Never heard of it called
