Fished on viking starship me my brother and 2 friends.Their was a good bite from 5 to 9:00 and the rest of the day it was a slow pick of bigger fish.We ended up with 17 cod 1 ling bigest being 14lbs 9oz to win the pool. Most fish were caught on clam.
Nice trip. I was out on the Viking on Wednesday. We had the ocean all to our selves. I bet that it was like a parking lot out there yesterday (but muchnicer conditions).
Yes Peter it was like a parking about 10 boats within a 1/4 mile as the day went on all boats split up.I dont think the stern did any better we did good at midship port side.Going back in two weeks. View attachment 23386
I believe that the Viking goes for $110. It leaves at 3am and usually gets back into port between 3pm and 4pm. It gets more crowded than the competition, but the Viking fleet is usually on the fish.
Other boats to consider include the Miss Montauk, the Rosie and the Celtic Quest.
Fished on the Celtic Quest yesterday with my brother art, Email the Codfather and Jake the Snake. I caught one keeper cod, 40 guys and 8 keepers for the boat. Not a good bite and tough to hold anchor with the wind and sea conditions.
