Looking for input on a new 2009- 27ft. Wellcraft Coastal in terms on quality, seaworthy abilities? Possibly going to sea trial and purchase. Any have first hand experiance or has riden in one. Will use the boat for trips to the lumps, masseys canyon, and reef fishing.

Appreciate pros and cons...

Thanks,

Be careful who you buy it from. My dealer made all kinds of promises for warranties and after a 59k cash payment they don't know me no more. Two years now and still have spider cracks in my hard top. Payed 4k for a Lawyer and still have a cracked hard top. Besides that I love my 233coastal. A great mix between pleasure and fishing. If you don't mind who are you buying it from?

27 Wellcraft Coastal

I had a 33' coastal, I bought new, for 11 seasons, held up real well. No major problems, like stated previously company does not back you up, so pick a dlr that will. However that being said good boat ,every problem I expierenced was minor ,related to shoddy workmanship that was out of sight! Hull ,HT, wiring etc all good to go! Boat rode well for having a 13' beam! Like anything else on most boats if you want it fixed now, you must do it yourself! Buy used you'll save mucho bucks & many minor issues are already fixed, good suyveyor can do rest!

My Brother had bought the 26 Wellcraft Coastal back in the 93's. Twin 150 Yammies

The boat was light so expect to take a pounding. Minor stress cracking was always a issue. No other major issues.

That boat served him well -- just sold it last year.

Just pick your days.

Not a Grady White but it doesn't have GW price tag either.

I have a friend that has an '04 or '05. It has twin 150 Yam 4 strokes. He is interested in selling b/c he wants to go back to a small cc. It is in Forked River if you want a look. Same issues as the other guys, good boat with a not so good support. the only thing that has not held up well are the bolster cushions in the cockpit. Cheap fix over buying new. Shoot me an e-mail if you are interested, ****[email protected]
