I have had alot of success throwing the smaller
Soft Plastics especially during the beginning
of the year when the bait is small and the fish
are hungry...I have taken some very Big Stripers
and Weakfish with Bass Assasians and Fin-S-Fish
jigging off the bridges around the inlets and
fishing around the tidal creeks that flow into
the Inter-Coastal Waterway...First Finding
Fish Is The Key, Then Putting It On Their Noses..
Here are a few of my favorites....

Anybody Else Use These ?? What Are Your Favorites??

The pink ice assasin looks great- I haven't tried that one yet.
Besides the others try a pink ice 4' Tsunami split tail. I also have done well with a soft plastic Mister Wiggly in white. It has a tail like a tiny tuna. Nice action.

Jig sizes- 1/4-1 1/4. Depends on current speed. Early fish are a bit lethargic so a wt that swings a little slower than the current.

Not to be a wise arse but only as big as you need! Just enough to get it to the bottom depending on current and wind. Other times yhey are feeding up top and you may want to go lighter to keep the bait higher. It could be as little as 1/8 oz up to 3/4 oz. I usually start with 1/2 oz and move up or down from there. Keep trying different weights and stick with what is catching.

...I can't seem to find any "bubble gum" color at any big merchant stores (Dicks, Sportsmens, Wal-mart) and I havn't made it down the shore yet. Either that color is real popular or they don't know to stock it.
Can you use them also in grass/sod banks and texas rig them with the same hook-up success?

About two weeks ago I was at Dicks in Deptford, and they had bubble gum Fin-s. I don't remember if they were 4" or 5 3/4".

I picked up a bag of "Alewife" 5 3/4". Anyone ever have any luck with this color.
I be throwing in about 2-3 weeks.

Hey Steve,
Those Bass Assasins are my favorites, they always seem to be the go to lure for me. Stripers, weakies and even those toothy critters like. They just cost you more money when they are around. Good items for around structure, sod banks and at creek mouths. They are just a solid bait to throw. Be seeing you soon. Wating for the water tmps to come up a little more and then I'll be out and about. See you soon, Keith the bagman

Like Bruce Said, I Like To Mix It Up Depending
On The Situation... If Bridge Fishing Sometimes
Early In The Year They Are On The Bottom,in that
case a 3/8 or 1/2oz will put me on the bottom.
If They Are Sitting On Top the lighter the better
1/4-3/8oz.. These Fish This Time Of The Year
Are Not All That Agressive,You Really Need To
Put Your Lure In Front Of There Face To Entice
A Strike... When I Fish The Flats, with shallow
Water I Also Go Light unless I really need more
Casting Distance then I would go heavier....

This also applies to other size soft plastics,
5",5 3/4" & 7" that I use through out the season.
