Left Manasquan inlet @ 8am headed south to the ferris wheel. trolled up many blues to 12lbs. with stretch 30's. Black and Chrome & Blue and Chrome. Water temp 56 degrees 20 knot wind steady out of the south with a lot of chop and 6'rollers on top of eachother made for a very snotty ride south and a smooth ride back. Most of the fleet gave up by noon conditions were getting worse as the day moved on. Left the ferris wheel with no bass saw a few caught on other boats. Headed toward Lovalette and was trolling on the beach in 30-35 feet of water and my buddy was taking in the lines as we were going to head in and bam a monster bass hits the stretch 30 and we boated a nice 45" bass that whent 40lbs. Made up for a tough day. I heard Saturday was much more productive. Did any one else have any luck up North?

We trolled from 9:00am to about 3:00pm on Saturday. Fished just south of you. Did the best in about 60' of water this time. Bunker spoons off ~300' wire were the ticket. Final tally for the day: one bass at 35", one at 34.5" and one 32" bass relaeased. Stopped counting bluefish at twenty or so. A couple of blues in the teens (looked pregnant). Most others on the VHF had similar results.

Congrats on the big bass.
