Here are actions of 200g Black Hole proto type rod while fighting a 160 - 170 lbs bluefin on the Tuna Duck out of Hatteras. I got the leader after fighting 25 - 30 minutes. While fishing I abused the rod as much as I can as if I am fighting with heavy 400 - 500g jigging rod.
I am pretty happy with the performance and action of the rod and phoned to them to go ahead. Those jigging spinning/conventional rods will be available by March 10 or sooner.

similar size tuna was landed by John/Glenn on the trip.

Kil,

How much drag are you fishing on that stick - that looks insane!!! When I die I want to come back as you:bow:
25 lbs drag. I fought the light rod as if it was 400g/500g rod.

The 200g rod will be shown at Jigging Sessions of Canyon Runner Seminars on Sat.

Kil, I was about to ask you when those rods will become available? Are you gonna carry both the high end and low black hole series rods?
They are developing high-end Black Hole Cape Cod Special with carbon/titanium material and they plan to use all Fuji Titanium guides. Currently regular Black Hole Cape Cod Special with Fuji SIC guides are available from March.

Great! What lengths and weights (200g -300g -500g ect.) will be available?

Do you think that there will be a huge difference between the quality of the high end version and the Low end version? If so, when will the high end version be available? Is it only guides that make a difference, or are they using different blank materials?

Will you be around the phone this weekend? I may want to order something.

It is time to fsih bluefin out of Hatteras, NC

Here are picutes of second bluefin jigging trip in a week out of Hatteras/Oregon Inlet, NC.
It was agony, frustration, hard work and determination. But nobody complained and everyone was smiling at the end of the trip. :)
John, fighting his first ever 100 plus lbs bluefin on spinners.
You don't need expensive, fancy rods/reels. He used Saltiga rod and Satargosa 18000.

John needed help from Sami and Glenn as he couldn't take beating anymore. :) As I said before, very few can land a 150 plus lbs tuna with a spinner alonw on his first try. But I saw them land big tuna alone on next trips once they figure out how to fight.

Glad you guys caught and nice fish but it looks like nothing but a back ache to me. I don't care who it is on the rod... if your hunched that far over like the guys in some of those shots it's got hurt... ouch. I know... It hurts in a good way.

Spinning reels for big tuna are not for anyone. You have to have desire, determination and physical ability. :)

I guess I'm out. I'm way short in the desire department. I have to say it would be entertaining to watch a few of my friends be put though that agony. They however would not be allowed to pass the rod under any circumstance. Under penilty of footing the bill for the entire trip tip included.;)
