adding zincs to rudders?

I have a transom zinc, shaft zincs. Should I add a zinc to each rudder? and if so is it as easy as drilling a hole in each one and installing the zinc. Does it matter where I drill the hole? Boat is a 32 albemarle

You can add them fairly easily. Do you know if you have one of the big zincs on the back of the boat??
If you have Stainless Steel rudders like Albemarle installs on the 41's, it's going to be tough to drill the 11/32" hole you will need to mount zincs on your rudders. If the rudders are included in the bonding system and the bonding system is wired to the big zinc on the transom, I don't think you need to worry about the rudders.

Sea Sparks or Dunk probably know for sure.

Nah drilling that stainless is cake if you start small and use the right bits... I would stick with Albemarles setup, but be sure that the bonding system is clean and in good shape.
I do have the transom zinc in the back, they are tied into the bonding system, I didnt think of that. I guess I dont need them. Havent had them for 7 years and no problems.

put zincs WHEREVER you possibily can we have a 2 year old boat and had fresh zincs put on and our effing trim unit got completely eaten and now we're screwed....something isn't right with our situation but if you can put them there...I would!

Do a continuity check between your rudders and the transom zinc...I checked a nice boat last year and one side of the boat was being protected but not the other.....bondings systems work...but they live in the hostile bilge environment and have a short lifespan too many times.
