I know we're not supposed to advertise on this forum, but RAM 336 told me that some Capt.'s were looking at possibly putting AED's onboard. I can help anyone out who needs it regarding that issue.
As an EMT/ERT and soon to be medic I have to say that AED's are an excellent idea for any commercial boat and being CPR/AED certified should be required for all captian's and mates. AED's save lives no question.
I just had my training today. We had to sit through a 4 hour course but you need to learn cpr to properly use the aed. The repetativeness of the course made it pretty hard to forget the proper procedure. Its a good feeling to have the knowledge to maybe save someone long enough till the real experts arrive.

I have posted a number of threads on this for those interested. Sunday April 23rd we are running a first aid CPR course that will touch on AED's and if anyone is interested I will have them available with weather proof cases and a full first aid bag for the boats.
Hey Ed! I have the boat which I think makes me a captain depending on who your asking, but I haven't been to sea school yet... I have to keep busy or else I would probably get myself in trouble Tell Dale I was asking for him. Yo Eel, your boy Ron knows what I'm talking about with the AED's. Good luck with the sales, sounds like a great deal. BTW, thanks for the Friday reminders
