I was just in St Petes 2 weeks ago and the water was clean, no red tide at all. Drove around Edgemont Key but didn't see anyone on the beach, there was a pretty good sized fleet anchored near the docks. I anchored in about 10' and by the time I got rigs tied and bait on the hooks the wind kicked up hard and everyone started to leave. I spent the rest of the day driving around looking for a good spot out of the wind. There were several bridges that would have worked but I didn't think I could pull the anchor without using the motor. I never taught my wife to drive the boat so that will have to change this year!!!

We will be vacationing for a week over Easter, renting the same house as last year on a small lagoon with a dock. Rented the same 24' Pontoon as last year as well. We did some fishing in front of Bridge street pier. Kids had fun catching some small fish. Have to rent a pontoon to hold all the people, which makes for some interesting rides to Egmont key, but its doable.
Going to try and do a little more fishing this time and try over closer to the skyway bridge fishing pier area.
