Hi guys,I got a question regarding anchor style and rope.
boat is a 25 Blackfin CC,fishing area is NY Bight, and NJ 17, Mud Hole,
I will be using the ball retrieve system,should I go with Plow type anchor
or Fluke-Danforth style, also what weight,and what diameter for the rope? remember this is a 25 cc but she is heavy about 8000-9000 LB.

Danforth type for sure, probably 17lb will be fine, 10-20ft of chain and 3/8" line

I have a 20000 lb boat. I switched from a danforth to a plow type anchor. It grabs alot quicker and is much easier to set than a Danforth. Once it digs in it seems to hold as good or better than the danforth did. I would recommend a Delta plow type anchor with 1/2" rope and at least 20' of chain.

12000 lb boat, I have a plow anchor

for my windlass. I use a danford with the ball retrieval system for deep water. 18lb with 15 ft chain and 3/8 line 600 feet sections. Plow is a much better holding anchor in all conditions.
