Another great day at a famous point 4/17

That was me Brian that fish was a nice tweener.Me and my buddy got a few hits after you left but that's all.It sure was a nice night out there.BTW it was nice to run into johnny d as well.All the barners I have ran into have been great guys it is awesome to be apart of this site.

Mike, It was nice to meet you. We will have to get together and do some fishing at the point soon. Then we can meet up and fish little sheepshead creek and get the tiderunners there. April 24 th was my slammer day last year for them and will be trecking down there soon enough. We will have to hook up. Maybe Nick you could join us for some tiderunners in the creek.

Sounds good Brian. Thursday night might be the next time I can get down there I am pretty tied up for the next few nights.I did play hooky from work today started about 10 am and left around 4 pm got nothing but a few hits and only seen shorts caught all day.What a nice day it was.There where a few boats out there as well.

Brian, glad ya liked the pic's. im workin the rest of the week but im off the weekend. depending on reports/conditions/tides/etc that will dictate where i'll be fishin this upcoming weekend. keep us(me) posted on reports down your way.

Guys I went out today before work (as I work nights) from about 9am-11am I was using clam and not fresh but salted so I knew I was against the wall from the get go. Even before I left to go fishing I knew I was going to be skunked. Well I was and met a nice guy from philla area that got a short and a slot 25 both on worms. So It was a worm day not clam. But lots of boats but not much activity around. I saw some night fisherman leave with fish but while I was there only saw two caught right next to me. I think it was just too nice out today. Should be better when the storms start hitting later this week. I have to work the next 3 nights then off for 4 days but will be all tide up except maybe I will do a evening shift at the point on friday. But I have things to do so only if I get done will I be able to go this friday.

brian, great report even if it isnt filled with fish fightin stories...atleast your there. i work nights as well and it does suck at times. i do believe the weekend weather will have those GP bass bitin'. bluebird days drive those fish into deeper waters. im fishin this weekend just have to decide between sodbanks or sand.

Nick I might try out little sheeps head creek and see if the tiderunners are in yet. I will let you know.

I will be out in that area tomorrow. I am dying to spend the day on the water. There are reports of some blues being caught in great bay so the tide runners sould be here soon.

Well guys I think my efforts are going to be turned to the beach now.Last night hit the north end of LBI and had awesome luck catching the stripes.I was using fresh live clams with hi/lo rigs w/ 6/0 gami circles with in five minutes BANG and nice short just shy of slot size 23 3/4" it was a very clean and healthy looking fish w/ a little wieght to it ended up catching 4 more shorts a 20" 2=22" 23".I might make another trip to GP this friday and give it a shot.

wf47, nice report! i might be on the island this weekend to do some scouting....looks like the rod will be coming with me!

Well I just got back and had and even better trip with a bud from work.Same area got one keeper each a few shorts and a 30" tweener all on clam it is getting good so I might be spending all my fishing time on the sand and not on the sod.Had to use 6oz. to hold used the same rigs but switched to 7/0 gami circles.It turned into a skate fest at the end all in all great night on the beach.

Mike great report thanks for that info. I might do GP friday after some errands but we will see. It depends on how my wife is feeling. She is pregnant and sometimes wants me close so will see if I can get away for a few hours to hit GP. Otherwise I will be hitting Little sheepshead creek very soon.
