I'm heading down to the shore this weekend and am wondering if I should even try for stripers in the inlets or back bays. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The Reckoning; They are around but you need to go at night. I've had the most luck right at or just after high tide. Good luck!

HIGH TIDE AT DUSK OR DAWN AND YOU WILL CATCH BEHIND WW.I MIGHT TRY BELLIES IN THE BACK IF THE SWELLS GET SOME WIND ON THEM OUT FRONT.
THERE WAS A LOT OF BAIT IN THE BACK ALSO.

There are bass around BUT they are tough to get, only bite I've had is at sunrise or sunset,tide doesn't seem to matter EXCEPT on the high tide they seem to be in shallow water
Poppers and Rattletraps have been working along sodbanks BUT eels are getting biggest fish IF you can stay away from the damn little Bluefish

ya they are there but tough to get to bite, we do our best at night on an out going tide.most of the fish are 16"-22" good luck fishing

The rough water definitely turned them on tonight, it also keeps away the crowds.
