I went perchin for a little over an hour on Tues.
It was nice and sunny until about low tide. I happened to look to the NE, and Oh Man! The fog just started rollin in and it wasn't long before I had to move my dead rods next to each other and cast them in opposite directions just so I could see them. I was very glad at this point that I was not out in my boat. The perch didn't like the fog and lost their appetite. I have never gotten stuck in the water in fog like that. Must be pretty scary. Anyone got any stories I might be able to learn from ( other than check the weather). Maybe it will help me in the future, cause I know someday I will get stuck in it.

I was in Barnegat Bay, first I was out offshore looking for the Barnegat Reef but no luck so I went in. Anyway the clouds to the NE looked a little dark. At about 9:30 the fog rolled in heavy and there was a ton of boat traffic in the bay too. I just ket it slow and scanned the area best I could (I wish I had radar for a day like that). The fishing was terrible, 3 sand sharks offshore and two skates..blah. I did not feel too worried though anyway we just kept drifting trying for fluke but nothing. The vis wasn't that bad, I'd say 100 yds maybe more with periodic breaks. I am just glad I got out of the ocean before that hit.

We were clamming and I looked up and seen that the fog covered the AC casinos. It was too late at that point to run in so we finished clamming and crawed in. We came across a boat that was lost and told him to follow us. At some point we lost him. I called the coast gaurd when we got in and told them about the boat and the approx location. Its a good thing that we are familar with Absecon bay area or we would him been sleeping in our boat.
