Read the article that the new line of Yammie's will be made without the steel liners in the block. They have treated the block with some metalurgical process that eliminates the need for the liners plus its gives the piston a better wear pattern and sealing ability.This process is coated on the block in thousands of an inch.Anyone has any more info on this new technique that has shaved considerable weight from the engine? Also the pan will be a plastic construction which causes no concern.

Any body remember the Vaga 4 cyl. all al. no sleave block back in the 70's? Dont think I will be buying the first one's. Almost bought a 300 hdpi a cupple of years ago, so happy i dident! Also concidered the 250 fore stroke that also are having problems. These things are expensive!

It is the same engine that is used in the new Ford Taurus SHO.

The old Taurus SHO had a Yamaha engine, but I think Ford is actually using a Ford engine in the new Taurus SHO.
