You were in a good spot. it is where the remnants of the original bridge remain as well as a small debris field. There are similar spots on the Ocean city side.

Funny I've snagged that exact spot 7,555,000,000 times while drifting for flounder and it NEVER dawned on me to drop a damn crab or sand flea haha
