Heading down Friday night. Here are my options:

Surf: Very inexperienced...only tried 2x
Jetty: Medium experience...caught a blue, weakie, and striper on the rocks
Kayak: Only tried 1x.

I will likely have to fish either early morning or late night. Heading out of Beach Haven West.

Question is...what is the best method? What is the best bait? Plug, bait?

Thanks guys!!!

First light try either soaking clams on the beach near a deep jetty than spend the rest of the day tossing small plugs around the small jetties along the beach. Nice clean surf sun coming up and bass on plugs and clam... sounds real nice. Also be sure to bring some metal in case some blues rush your clam rigs. Try to stay away from the inlet this wknd alot of boat traffic means not many fish their.
If you feel like hop on the miss barnegat light for big blues. Its alot of fun

Do the beach thing with clams for some great action.

Guys, how do I know if it's a deep jetty? I will likely need to fish early AM and be back to work on my Uncle's new boat.

Thanks for the tips!

More often then not, the deeper pockets lay on the south side of the larger rock piles. Scouting would be your best bet so that you can read the water prior to fishing in the dark. Good luck.
