Well guys, it seems slob time is here!
We fished today with Tuna John, Tackle Direct Lenny, Foul Mouth Bob Maholland, Mammie from Alabammie, Anthony Petrucci, and Tommy Salerno. What a fun bunch of guys to fish with.
We headed out in slick calm conditions running around 30 knots and made a stop where we had some nice fish the other day. The chew wasn't there too good, but we did put a slooooooooow pick together and boxed five fish off here. Tom got a big daddy whitechin, putting the scale down to nearly 13 pounds! Personal best for Tom....awesome fish! We the chew being slow, we made a wiggle. Got both anchors set, and it appeared that we were in for a donut on this stop. Well, Tom hooks up a 4 pounder. Then, Tom hooks up a 6 pounder. I see Anthony do a little swing and missing. So, I drop a crab down. I got lucky and had a good bite. Hooked up on a good fish, and a couple minutes later a nice fatty is on the deck, pulling the scale down to 10.5 pounds. The bite here ended up getting pretty steady, and we put a good catch together off this piece with some nice 3 to 6 pounders. Just after I nabbed my 10.5 pounder, Tom yells to Lenny "Is that a good fish!?" Judging from the look on Lenny's face and the grunting sounds he was making, it looked good. Gets it up, I put the net on it, and a 12 pounder is on deck! A personal best for Lenny. Then, Anthony's rod cripples over. 65lb braid starts ripping from the reel, and he can't do anything with it. He makes some ground, and gets the fish coming. Crystal clear water, and we can see the fish a good ways down. It's a big dog, and on deck the big slob pulled the scale down to over 15 POUNDS! What a fish! Another personal best for Anthony. We got some more decent fish here, and needing a few more for a limit, made a move. Picked a keeper and short off this drop, but it was slow. So, one more move. We got the anchors set, and Tom and John hook up as soon as they hit the bottom. John bags a nice 6 or 7 pounder, and Tom has another 5 pounder for the box. We got a pretty nice pick going here and put the rest of our boat LIMIT together before we headed for home. We cruised in at 35 knots and bumped the throttles up to 45 knots when hit the inlet just for kicks on a BEAUTIFUL January day!
THANKS GUYS!
