Well it all started when we were perch fishing.Sitting there in my boat was me and my buddy Joe...My brother in-law and his wife were next to us in thier boat.We see this guy go buy us in what looked like a 12ft aluminum boat with like a 6horse or something.Well,he went by us and for some reason my brother in-law looked down the river and seen this boat doing circles with nobody in it.Then we see a head bobbing in the water. We rushed over there within seconds!!This guy was just about to go under, untill my buddy Joe reached down and grabbed a hold of his shirt and then his arm!!!We held onto him till we drove him over to the bank!!!In the meantime my brother in-law was trieing to get this dudes boat!!He finally managed to get the boat and tie it to his boat, then drag it to the bank where we were.I'm telling you,i never seen anything like it!!That guy should be counting his blessings..When we got to him he was starting to go under. He had cardharts on and some other heavy clothes and he was a big guy over 200lbs...He made it to the bank and we stayed with him for awhile till he got his head rite again!!We offered to take him in , but luckily we weren't to far from the ramp and he drove himself!!!

Really makes you think twice about putting a life jacket on when out there by yourself!!!

I know i'm not too good about getting into details about what happened(I suck at typing)but i tried!!!....BE SAFE OUT THERE!!!

Good job man, and you bring up a good point about a life preserver. I wear a survival suit unti the water hits 55 for that same reason

Nice Job, that guy was lucky. When I fish alone I always wear one of those inflating life jackets. I am walking around the front of a flats boat casting flies for the most part. Have never gone over yet, but all it takes is one time. Should always have a plan too. In my little boat I can step on cavitation plate of motor and climb in real easy. When I had a larger boat I always keep a rope ladder tied to a cleat that I could flip in the water, which assumed the boat wouldn't be moving. When fishing alone you may not be lucky enought to get help and the cold water kills fast. You guys really saved the day.

fshlot & crew, nice job out there. That guy was lucky you & the crew were in the area.
Whenever I fish alone, I wear one of these. They cost about $125, but what is your life worth? ;)

Water-activated or manual inflate.

This is what the marine police wear.
You hardly know you have them on. ;)

I bet the adrenaline was running and that 200 pound guy probably didn't feel that heavy. It's nice to know there are people like you out there to help out in others time of need. By the way, were you out in the river or bay? Currents can really be moving in that river. You can go under and pop up 20 feet away in a little over a second.

Good job!!! I was washing my hands off after chunking up some bunker and thought of how cold the water is and how long one would last in it. A few minutes at the most.
