Being new to to the LBI area I ws wondering if there are any Black Drum caught in the area, if so; where?

couple years back Two brothers hooked and Landed a 115# Black Drum AT the South End of LBI off the Beach. Would have Been a Worlds Record,But they shared the Fight on the Rod

One heck of a fish regardless,especially off the beach !!Prior record, 113Lb.,1oz., caught in Delaware.That's alot of chicken!!

What's up Southport. Yes, Delaware Bay is the place you want to fish in the south Jersey area for Drum. It can start in late April but in May it gets very good and into June. I run Drum charters out of Cape May at that time. If your ever interested get in contact with me.

Thing These Days...

The Boaters' in GreatBay had a very good run
last Spring, and for the Surfcasters
Brigantine Beach, LBI and IBSP have been
HOT During May into early June with Fresh
Clam in the Wash...

yeah the bite was hot in Great bay last year,They were catching em in 5-10 ft of water on Clam just like over at Broadkill Slough.They are caught in the surf all the time ,but no apparent pattern presents itself,Clam being the only real connection .HRL

What are the reg's on Black Drum? I've never caught one in GB, but I may poke around a little this spring.

Sounds like something may want to try in grassey. What kind of rig would I use. Anchor or drift? I use clams quite a bit, a laiile surprised I never caught one as a "by".
