After the great swordfishing we saw last week , we were anxious to get back out and try our hand at it again. We set off in fairly rough conditions with the expectation of the weather improving shortly into the trip. Well, you can guess the rest ... the weather was a little tough but we managed 10 bites in a night and a half of swordfishing. Unfortunately, with the conditions we were forced to fish alot of weight and had trouble keeping lines down in the zone. Coming off the full moon, it seemed the fish were not very aggressive and the bites very lazy. We managed to land 2 swords and pulled a hook on another shortly into the fight ... the rest of the bites resulted in slashed baits. Still decent fishing by Northeast standards and better then what we are seeing around us here in FL. During the day we spent some time trolling and went 2.75 for 6 on wahoo ... got two whole fish to the boat and had another bitten off at the tail. We also added some nice mahi to the box to round out the trip ... good weather window approaching so we will be back at it soon ...
