does bottom paint effect how many fish u hook up when trolling? if so what paint would be better dark blue or green? thanks in advance

We like dark colors. We mix our own. We make a dark blue that is almost purple when wet and a very dark blue after it gets wet with salt water. Our reason is we paint squids on the bottom in white and when looking up from under the boat they look good against the dark hull. We have noticed a increase in the amount of billfish encounters on the last two boats. Might be just B.S. but I don't think it hurts. My grandfather always said red to imitate blood in the water. He would only paint with red and always did well. To each is own. There was a article in one of the offshore mags about the California sword fishing fleet that increased there catch 22% on the boats they painted squids over the ones they didn't.:huh:
