Hmmm...

I just replaced my line with 20 guage mono.

I seem to lost a lot in my casting distance!

What's the best striper line gauge and type to use, where you can still get an awesome cast?

Dakota ,

I use 30# PP , but there are draw backs especially when the w**d is blowing ...

But in mono I use 17# Berkley Trilene , good castability plus strong ..... Never had a problem even casting weights up to 6oz.

I believe it has a little bit more to due with
it(casting distance)then what kind of line you
are using.. Although Braided Lines Seem to
Get You A Litte Bit More in Most Cases.
Your Need Your Equipment (Rod&Reel) Balanced.
You Don't Want To Exceed the Max./Min.Amt of Weight
/Lure that your Rod is Rated For. Same Goes
for you Reel don't exceed your Line Test/Capacity
Ratings..And Make Sure Your Spool is Poperly
Filled, too much or not enough will work
aganist you also....
