Hey Guys

I recently joined the board of a charity organization called Supporting Kidds (http://www.supportingkidds.org/). It’s a small organization out of Hockessin, DE and we provide counseling and group therapy for children and their families following the loss of a parent. It has been proven that how children deal with the loss of a loved one at a young age can drastically impact the remainder of their life. It's a really good cause and a great organization.

Anyway, we are having a fundraising event at Harry’s Savoy we call Party on the Patio. It’s one of our biggest events and we have a live and silent auction selling sports memorabilia, vacations, art, etc. all benefiting the cause. The reason I am posting is I was wondering if any Barners would be willing to donate anything for the event. I am tying a bunch of flies but we would take anything from lures, tackle, charter trips, anything you would like to donate.

The event is on May 6th so we have some time, and I can provide you with our tax id so it can be written off.

Nate, is it mostly "sports" based. In other words, will there be enough fishing/tackle guys to generate money from fishing gear?

While there are aution items from other categories (art, vacations, restaurants, etc.) I would say the majority of the stuff is sports themed. We have a lot of autographed and collectable merchandise, Phillies/flyers/orioles/ravens/sixers tickets and packages, golf rounds and gear, etc.
To be fair, they haven't had much fishing in the past- I am new to the board this year, so I took this on. Knowing the crowd that we got at past events, I think the fishing stuff will do well, expecially the fly fishing stuff.

We do set minimums or starting bids on everything though so if there's something out there that you would want to donate but only if it gets good return, we can control that. And I can return anything that doesn't sell.
