Cod fishing

Hey guys,
I got an invite to go cod fishing in rhode Island this weekend. Ive never been cod fishing and i do not know what to expect? Is it normally bait fishing or jig fishing?

Are they biting real good, i dont want to drive 6 hours for a long boat ride...is it worth it?

Both bait and jigs have been catching....any time OTW is worth it IMHO.

I've heard some pretty solid reports as of lately so you may hit it just right....who you fishing with??? Francis Fleet??

Thanks for the information, im not sure who im fishing with my buddy just called and asked if i wanted to go, and i said id get back to him.
