Hi just want to get some suggestions on a good conventional surf rod. I want to use a Penn 525Mag with this set up. Thanks

you lookin for graphite or glass rod?

how much weight (bait & weigh) you plan on throwin majority of the time?

You lookin for a bunkerhead and/or clammin rod?

Some guys like a fast rod (graphite) while some others prefer a slower loading rod like an e glass rod.

I prefer the graphite. I will be throwing no more then 4or 5 ozs.

I have an 11' tica rated 4 to 8 oz, very nice rod for the money $120 thinking of getting a second one, I use a squidder & a mag 980 on mine

Lami mhc101 10' rated 3-8oz works well for me with a 525 mag.
