Fished Corson's over the weekend. Nothing, not even a bite. Fished the inlet area. Fished the back channel. Fished over near the Strathmere bridge. What a clusterf%^&! Nothing but jet skis. They have really ruined a great place to fish. I have fished there my entire life. Now, the jet ski idiots have taken over. While drifting, I had one come across my bow so close that I could have grabbed the guy. I should have punched him in the head instead.

Pick-up some fluke in that area this weekend but I had to work for them. Jet skis seem to get faster every year. A few years back in that same area my buddy casted his line from my boat and the line caught a jet skier by the throat. He took off and I thought it was over without any comments. About an hour later I drove my boat to the back, way back, of ludlam bay to crab. We are anchored and here comes these two guys on their jet skis. They drove by us real slow and believe it or not the same guy who hooked the guy by the neck had his pole in the water and the jet ski ran over it. These two guys on the jet skis had to watch what they said because there were 4 large guys on my boat. It was funny when one of guys on the jet ski asked if we caught anything and one guy on my boat said "yeah, we caught two jet skis". True story.

it was 4th of july weekend! I didn't even considered fishing. Now that it's summer you have to show up early in the morning on a weekday.

I don't like the stupid kite ski things, they do stupid stuff all the time and make me nervous. I think they are more clueless than the PWC operators. All they pay attention to is the waves they going to jump.

Somebody got hurt this weekend in Sea Isle's backbay. Not sure of the whole story but I think a person was being towed on a tube in the backbay and got cut-up by the prop. What I heard was the boat brought the person to a house on 56st and asked to call 911. The police and emergency personel met them at the house. They must have come to my dock first because there was blood on my dock. Anybody hear of anything ?

At Corson's, a young girl's father put his hand thru the Sea Doo's mirror after it apparently slipped off (ie, after he hit a wake/wave). NJ State Marine Police apparently dropped him off at the state boat ramp. Fire department as well as an ambulance showed up at the boat ramp too. That was about 2:30 pm.

In fact, I wound up backing the victim's truck up (as I was asked to do so by his daughter) and putting the doos back onto the trailer. They guy apparently did a nice slice and dice job on his right hand.

I remember when I was younger and the jet skis first showed up in Corson's. Back then, I was surf fishing about 1/2 way up the inlet on the beach side. Had (1) guy continously driving over my line.

Well, I decided to take some action, ie, I rigged up a 1 oz. weight and after it buzzed by his head, needless to say, he rode around other parts of the area. LOL

Yup. When I was a kid in the early 80's, Corsons was a much different place, a quiet place where you could fish without any disturbance, spring summer and fall. Now, the jet-skiing idiots not only ruin whatever peace and quiet you are supposed to have in the STATE PARK, but they are destroying the STATE PARK'S natural habitat as well. It's akin to ATV's running the woods up the cedar creek birding area of Belleplain (I figured I'd use an analogy of the same state park). The people enjoying the peace of the woods would have the CO's on the ATV's butts in no time. No so in the bay, which is part of Belleplain SP's jurisidiction. That place is silting in so bad, it is ruining some really nice holes and troughs that used to be there but now aren't anymore. You won't find me there in the summer or early fall. I don't like fishing with ear muffs on.

You see what they have done with Island Beach STATE PARK with no-wake/no-motor zones and such, why can't they do the same to Corson's Inlet STATE PARK ????

Have a good Corson's story myself...I've fished there for almost 10 years now, and the Wave Runners got real bad starting 5 years ago or so. One day 5 or 6 yrs ago, when I was maybe 15 or so, I was fishing from the bridge and a wave runner came screaming under the bridge and my line caught on its prop. My brand new rod jumped up over the rail and I caught it with my had gripping around both the rod and the line, which was peeling off due to the drag setting. In the 5 seconds it took me to regrip, the line had burnt a line mark right into my palm about a tenth of an inch deep, which started bleeding 5 minutes later. All my line spooled out. It was one of the angriest moments of my entire life. Corsons used to be a much better place to drop a line.

I used to fish there alot before the new bridge went in ( my grandparents lived in OC).

The old Wood Bridge was a magnent for triggers and sea bass , but the new ramp is much better. Ashame the place gets overun by the mechanical gnats during the summer. I only go there now in the fall and winter for late season fishing and ducks. Jode

I fish there often in my kayak and don't care about the jet skis as much as the shoobies in their boats that don't know what channels markers are. They run every where but in the channels and don't slow up for no wake zones till they are in them 50 yrds. or so.

Esox1,
You have the story correct. It was a boat full of teenagers, one kid's leg got cut up.
