Headed to Costa Rica (Grand Papagayo) at the end of April for part 2 of our honeymoon. Was able to put her on a 35 lb bass on honeymoon part 1. Does anyone have recommendations for a captain in the area. Looking to do a half day.

I believe you are staying a several hundred yards north of the coolest beach bar in Central America. Lola's (named after the 350 lb pet pig) that has an awesome outside break on a lava flow. The break is called Playa Avellanas. Great food and fruit smoothies! You should also have a break a little further north called Little Hawaii.

If I am correct, then you are close to Tamarindo. We have been going to Langosta(next to Tamarindo) for spring break the last 3/4 years. We chartered Capullo the last 2 years for a full day. Old Topaz that raises fish. He put the kids on first blue and first sail 2 years ago, and put the wife on her first stripey last year. They run mostly hookless teasers, use 2 mates and provide a tasty lunch. We raised 8/9 sails last year but they would not switch off the teasers. Still great action chewing on moldcrafts just off the transom. Marlin University has used this rig, if you look at some old adds, you will see her tied up between some pretty famous game boats.

Owner Steve is from the states, his local captain grew up on that boat. High recommendations. Just don't expect Los Suenos....

Sea life: whales, dolphin, turtles, mantas.... worth the trip!
You can reach Steve [email protected] have fun!
