I picked up about 15 of the crippled alewive bunker spoons about 7"s long mostly white ones and a few red/yellow ones, also the acetta spoons about the same size. We haven't trolled for stripers for quite awhile since our boat just won't go slow enough, and we do well chunking , but i used to enjoy trolling for bass and have a boat we can now do it in, we have some of the realy big bunker spoons and some berkley stretch lures, wondering if you guys use any of the alewives and how they do? All the lures were brand new in the packageing. And about $18.00's each marked on the big spoons, we offered them a price for all the lures and fishing items so we got a good deal on them, didn't know weither to sell them all or keep some.

crippled alewives

We have had success with both crippled alewife and tony acetta spoons when fish are on herring. Sort of a limited set of parameters, but when they work, they work well.

Thanks for the tip, what year 32 Topaz are you running? We're looking to sell our 32 Albemarle FB to move into an Express, one of the newer series 32 Topaz's is on our short list, wondering how you like yours and what power you have? thanks alot. Ron

Its a 2006 Topaz with C7 Cats. Fish everything from bass on the beach to the canyons. We got it late in 07, have about 1300 hours in it and couldn't be happier overall. Every boat has litlle things you'd like a little different, but for ride and fishability it's a winner. Very productive fishing boat overall, comfortable ride that doesn't punish you.
