We caught a big croaker when weakie fishing this weekend. It was a good size and broke up the skunk. I wanted to know if there was a way to specifically target them?

If you're in a spot and catching more weakies than croakers, you are targetting weakies...

Use small bits of clam or bloodworms and fish the channels, or the nearshore lumps, to truely target croaks.

If you can find them they'll eat squid too. you know its a croaker as soon as you set that hook;)

A small piece of clam or shrimp fished on the bottom will catch croakers if they are around.

Out in the Delaware Bay, they're all over- they'll eat clam and squid all day long. Same sort of rigs as for weakfish.

Our usual conversation is "How many of these things do you want to keep?" (And clean.:p )

They do pull hard for their size!
