Everyday I drive down 495 going home and look over at the river. Just south of Claymont station looks to be a shoal or flats on the Claymont side, it was an outgoing yesterday and the water was pouring off the flats, causing some nice rips, the channel also is running close to land and it gets closer at Fox Point,.

To me it looks fishable. Saw birds working alot off these flats last year.

Just a bit further south near the trestle looks to be some old piers out there as well....

I have never seen a boat in this area fishing, 13 years I've been traveling up & down.

I see boats way over on the Jersey side, but nothing here?

Is there a reason?

Just curious....

striperin; the shipping chanel runs on the delaware side, you can drift if you want, but i sure would not throw the anchor out, those big tanker ships would not like that. next time you ride home take a look at how close the bouys are to the delaware side. im not telling you ya cant fish there, just becareful. pondbox
