How about that fishermen Kevin Davis on the Lucky Lady turning his ankle on that broken deck
last night, Ouch!!!,last year he went overboard and lived to tell about it,, Amazing..
Amazing show. Great footage. Was Kevin there?
I was wondering what type of impact the series, which highlights adventure and big bucks, will have on the fleet and the fisherman. Will there be an increase in willing participants, fisherman or boats? Will these guys take a paycut as a result of competition? Will there be more accidents in the future due to thrill/$ seekers rushing to the docks? One thing for sure will stay the same, the crab-which is great.
I've been watching each night. Its a tuff way to make a living. If your lucky and your luck holds your bank account could look pretty good. Lose the luck and you could lose everything, including your life.
I also been watching, reminds me of how tough a life that is. Glad I did it while I was young. I didn't fish in Alaska but lifting traps off the ocean floor is a tough life no where you do it. I guess they are going to show the next type of crab season after this one if there is 5 more weeks left. Bill
Just saw it last night,Those guys are nuts!
Gentlemen Please Don't get caught up in that 140,000.00 pay check. That could be Zero just as easy.

" Cowboys like us sure do have fun racing the wind chasing the sun."

One of the deck hands summed it up nicely when he said. " Ya can't see anything like this sittin behind a desk in a 70 story buildin."

I don't do it for the money that would be lame, I do it for the love of the game and the thrill of the hunt. Money is just a bonus !!!!
Replays of all 3 episodes sunday night 8pm-11 for whoever missed them (like me).
WHATEVER THEY MAKE THEY EARN.TOUGH JOB BUT THEY SEEM TO LOVE IT AS DOES THE PICKER.
Great show! I'm hooked.
I agree, its a great show. Last night, they announced that the season is only 80 hours long. Thats pretty harsh.
And about that 140,000$ a week, It doesnt sound like anyone makes that much.
... and i thought i had it rough working 14 hr days on a sea bass/tog boat!! lol
I love guys who say they would do it as long as death isn't involved.

Morons!!!!!!!!!!
Great show! I just can never get enough of the Discovery, TLC and the other simialar channels.

I'd do it in a heartbeat, but I saw the 40 old greenhorn get beat real bad. I think its a younger man's game when starting out.

It did get me thinking about Marine conservation though with the very short crabbing season and the end ambiguous. Imagine a 2 week striper/fluke season. Think about an out of the blue closing of the season. Sure hope it doesn't represent things to come.
No Way!!
Im 26, and I dont think I could do it. It's not worth ones life. Just think of how wierd a person feels without much sleep. Just imagine having practically no sleep.
I would Die.

Our seasons get closed all the time. This year the winter one fluke season lasted 10 days 5 of witch there were gails posted. Squid season 2 weeks in winter one and two weeks in winter two. Scup still wide open but we can only have 300 boxes every two weeks.

I could go on and on but that would be a waste just remember the grass isn't greener over here.
