I am thinking about hiring a guide to fish the Delaware River for stripers this spring, and I'm seeking suggestions that won't break the bank. My dad is 70 and we've chartered boats in Cape May a couple of times, but it always seems the weather sucks and he's never gotten a keeper, not that we fish for them very often. Thanks in advance for your help!:D

I would recomend Chris Gatley of Ardent Angler. My son and I fished with him last year for smallmouth, and he was terriffic. Do a search for him on either the site or google.

It's Bill and Eric over at Harry's. They're both friends of mine. And they're also both good friends with Chris Gatley.

if you considering a guide for your local fishery than breaking the bank should not even matter. get an extra guy if cash is tight. you will learn more on a guided 5 hr trip than you would with yrs of fishing a local stretch. assuming your guide is good. just pay attention because remember you can always come back to the spots he showed you and continue using what he recommends. again all this banking on the fact that guide guide knows his chit!
