There are some monsters swimming out there

My ex mate Jeff Hudson that worked on our boats for a number of years fished down in Australia during the winter months in 2006 and took these pictures. He worked on a private boat down under and they caught the largest Black Marlin in the world that year which went 1291 lbs. They were fishing a tournament when they caught this one in the picture but they released all the others they caught that winter but this one was boated since they were in a tournament. The size of the marlin and the bait they use amazed me and it was really interesting hearing Jeff describe how they fish for big marlin down under. He has been going back every year since then to fish in the winter months and I cannot believe the things he has probably experienced fishing down there. One of my captain friends from Cape May who Jeff worked with as a teen ager is heading down to New Zealand and Australia this weekend for 7 weeks. Not a bad way to go if you can afford it and do not mind the long plane ride.

That is one of the sweetest pictures I've seen. A friend of mine told me pretty good story this year. He had a nice yellowfin hooked up and the fish was acting weird, next thing he knew the fish was running toward the boat and kinda hid under it. He then saw an estimated grander blue near the boat.
