Saw a couple drum taken from the sods of Great Bay last night (by-catch via "clams" for strippers, "the cheaper bait" ;) ). The one closest had to be a good 20 lb. plus. Moon full, high water, just prior to the ebb. Oh yea, many a bass before & after the slack.

Things change, along with the Wind & tides....same spot, same bait, coulden't buy a bite till close to the high. Shorts & slots one of which made it to the table (1 1/4" blue crabs in stomach). Fresh clam.....what else.

Rumor has it that someone got a drum around 70 pounds in the surf in beach haven.It was reported on fishheads web site

hey fellas, on 4/23 i nabbed two drum 35 & 40 kept the smaller one. these were my first drum and boy are they good. both in fight and taste. we got these in a boat off the sod bank. got one at the end of the high tide and one at slack. both on clam. hit some short and tweener stripers- no keepers.
