Egg harbor River report

Got up at 5am and was on the boat about 5:30. We launched at kennedy park in Somers pt. Started toward the river. Stopped at P'way Bridge, nothin. powerplant, nothin(saw a seal) stated into the river. Stopped at one of my fav places. Thowing plugs, I whacked a FAT 37"er just after sunrise. Headed up to the fresh water line (powerlines in mayslanding) plugged the rest of the incoming and had herring chunks out. All we got was harased by catfish. So we went back down river, found a nice hole and set up shop. for about 2 hours we had steady action of 10-20Lb fish. All were FAT FEMALES. Kept one gut hooked and so did my partner. They seem to be heading up the river in good numbers. Done fishing by noon.

Way to go eelball....Gotta love the river this time of year!!!!I caught a few stripers myself in the Tuckahoe river.Sounds like you had a great day!!!

Everyone please disregard this thread. There are no stripers in the Great Egg(head) River. Eelball is confusing stripers with jumbo white perch.

Christ, look how many views this thread got back in 04 compared to the amount of hits on every thread nowadays that even hints at being a report.

And this thread made it through back then without a spot burn comment??

More reports then but less hits vs. less reports now and more hits hmmmm 27,567 people who KNOW about the Barn. Factor in less fish to catch and guys like JOEY ZAC who can't STFU and you have to make the conclusion that The Barn is a victim of its own success.
