Got up at 3am on Saturday and took the Hobie down to everglades city. That town deserves the name kayak city. Everwhere I looked there were kayak outfitters and vehicles loaded with kayaks. After stopping for breakfast I headed out of a state park launch into the 10,000 islands. Glad I brought the GPS becuse rather then stay in the channels and open water areas I headed back into the little creeks and bays formed by all the islands. Caught some nice sea trout up to 20 inches and didnt see another human all day. It was cool in the morning so I only brought one bottle of water which was big mistake as it got real hot by lunchtime. I got sunburnt pretty bad but the place looks like a must stop if you and your kayak are touring Florida.

I love it down there. Haven't tried it in a yak yet. There is a guy named Charles Wright that does mothership kayak trips way in the back from EC.
