I've just purchased a 96 Evinrude 15 2 stroke.. I don't have much experience with smaller motors, this one pushes out a lot of water near the shift rod when running on ears. Is this normal?
Its going on my sons 11ft whaler, what maintainance is important? Water pump, plugs, tsat and seafoam are set up for sunday morning. Thanks MartyD

Tell tale stream is fine, this water is coming from down low, where the shift rod enters the lower unit. Thanks MartyD

Needs to be looked at there shouldn't be water flowing from that area ( might be a seal or a cracked water pump housing ) might just need a water pump assy. with rebuild kit not expensive and easy to do just but the book for that year motor.
