I have been using PowerPro for years without any issues. Depending on how hard/often you use your equipement will determine how often you change the line. I usually get 2 - 3 years before I respool. Again it all depends on how the line looks at the end of the season.

Most of my reels have Power Pro. Power Pro is good for the price . Most of my reels are spooled by my local B&T store and thats what they carry in bulk spools so thats what I use. Although this year I'm thinking of changing a few of my setups back to include mono and Florocarbon..where more finesse types of fishing presentations require a little more stretch and or abrasion resistance.

Inshore I have started to switch from PP to suffix. I had a bad batch of PP on one of my reels last year. I replaced it with suffix and I think it casts better. Three to five years I would say.

No issues with PP in any poundage or color in the 5 years since I converted.

Have 50 on surf and bay chunking setups, 20 on a few others, and in the spring will be dropping to 10 on my light sod walking spinner.

Stren used to make a braid I thought was really sweet (solid, very little fade and was perfectly round) but either they discontinued it altogether or severely curtailed it's distribution.

sounds like power pro is the go-to braid, I used to be a big fan of fireline, but it may not measure up to power pro, just curious anybody still using fireline:confused::confused::confused::confused:
I still use fireline 30lb on my plugging rods,I feel its easier to work with(less wind knots). But all my other rods have pp,tuff and suffix.
I use all my lines the same way,I use them spring and fall then reverse them on the spool so used line is on the bottom of spool (like new!!)than after next spring & fall I junk it.

I have spooled up hundreds of reels here at the shop with braids. Bottom line is only Fireline will be on any of my reels. ONLY FIRELINE!
