The old town otter is one of the reasons I originally shied away from kayaks and went with a canoe. I think the otter was intended to be a inexpensive play around in the pond model.
Once I did my research, figured out what I wanted and why, (and took into account my budget), tried a few models, I found one that was perfect for me. I love it.
Take your time and find a shop that knows fishermen and you can end up with a great yak.
