Hey everyone,

Im getting my first boat, 12ft jon, any recommendations on a decent fish finder or any def. not to buy?

I prefer the Humminbird brand myself. Get something simple without all the bells and whistles if you just fish the shallow waters of SJ. Check E-Bay to keep cost down.

Good idea, it is just sj waters usually, sometimes delaware, but basically the same thing, I was thinking Humminbird

Just saw a Humminbird PiranhaMAX 170 w/temp at Dick's for $99, is the one your talkin about any better? Not sure that I trust ebay, never really used it

Between the Eagle and the Bird here are just a couple things that are different,The Eagle is a 5in display the Bird is a 4in display,the Eagle is 320x320 pic's where the Bird is 240x170 pic's,
I used a Eagle for about 5 yrs on a boat it was a 420 silver mark it was a rock solid finder Eagle is made by Lowrance for 10 bucks more sure looks like a better deal to me.
