The master (wife) let the dog (me) out for a walk (fish) last night

Fished OC area around high tide... nice night, little wind, good current, clean water...

Perfect conditions.. no fish.. (that would take my lure anyway).

There was a lot of rainfish or what looked like shiners up against the banks. Every few minutes I would hear a large SLURP and then see the ripple in the water--are these bass?? It was dark out.

I tried everything... plugs, soft plastics.. even a swimming plug that looked like a shiner.. managed a small hit on that, but no hook up...

Something was feeding out there... and up close, too.

Leave those fish alone till I get back.
The sodbank fishing is as good as it gets right now.
I was surprised how good Skip and I got them at 1am. sunday with the wind the way it was,it was Howling and I was asking myself why I had left a nice warm bed to go out in that cold wind, but when I caught a dozen in 2 hours I felt much better,Except for the 30in fish that drove 2 hooks from my Bomber into my hand.
It was a great 4 nights fishing with double digets every night.I can`t wait to get back.
We had some fish on black Smack-its,And many on Black Bombers worked painfully slow. :D

Snapper we were seeing the same thing as you,you should try a very very slow retrive with your plug so it is just leaving a small wake on the surface, use a floating type swimming plug, crank it slow and after a while they just get pissed and crush it,good luck

tried to go last night before the storm hit. Worked till 11 then put in the water. Got to the inlet in time to see the lightning storm comeing down river. Well we beat feet home and never tried fishing. I was marking alot of big fish but it was way to unsafe. BUMMER.

Fished the back bays last night using a white Mega Bait. Ended up with 10 Stripers with the biggest going 30". Dropped about the same number. Not a bad night considering the weather, great lightning display in the distance!

Wasn't gonna go out last night..But couldn't resist! Left my house at about 1AM and by 4AM had 25 more stripers to my credit! Most fish were slot fish...But had a few in around the 30" range...Everything was released! And all were caught on black bombers! Should have had like 50!

Rockdoc and I made it out around 6 last night, pretty stiff wind and rain kept us from boating around too much so we tied up at a bridge. Found a bunch of spearing and peanuts in the lights. We boated 3 bass @ 23", 24" and 33". Still some blues around.
