Walked the sods this morning with Casting disaster.
We fished for about an hour and a half near the
bottom of the outgoing. Landed 8 bass to 24" on
bass assasins. The water has cleaned up since I
was out last, but I'm still waiting patiently for
the migratory fish to make their way in back. It
can't be too much longer...good luck out there!

Did the clam thing on Saturday in the beautiful Striper weather. 5 Stripers between 25-28 inches. I lost a very nice fish, due to pilot error. I had just landed a 27 incher that ingulfed my bait and on inspection of my leader it had striper thumb. Did I changed the line...no, what an idiot. Next cast I hook into a monster that was running line on me and tink!!!! broken leader and my 6/0 hook is gone.

I can't even say rookie mistake, but maybe early season...nah dummy. Anyway, make sure those hooks replaced on your plugs and they are sharp, knots are correct, and check your line for abrasions.

good luck this fall striper season.

Worked the dock lights with striperboy16 on friday night and saturday night with little luck. No striped ones under the lights, just a ton of blues. Also checked around the toll bridge on sunday for tog, but no bites; water may still be a little warm.

Plugged a Central NJ beach yesterday and this afternoon during the outgoing...Water had cleaned up nicely, and saw some bait in the wash....Yesterday, the blues were around THICK....caught em on poppers and metal, all you could catch, up to 33"....No bass.....Today, not even a strike on the same strech of beach....Only saw one short bass caught by someone using a Mag Minnow, and a 32"-range bass caught by a bait flinger.....tight lines-----Mike

Good to hear Striperholic:)...Was out Sun. night drifting eels boated one 35" and he was a fatty which seems to be the case with the majority of the fish i have been catching..These fish are apparantly eating pretty good...Lost a fish due to what i think was a worn leader from the fish i caught 2 nights before...Anyway tightlines...Pazman

After several years of trying I finally got a nice bass on my own boat. It was 40 inches and 21 lbs. Got it in the LEI at the bottom of the tide. Had a great day getting weakfish and blues off of Holegate capped off by a nice striper in the inlet.

Went to take a peek at ocean with binoculars after voting yesterday. NO WORK TODAY!!. Gannets dive bombing in the distance. Ran to boat and headed out. Just missed a good weakie bite at GE but birds were scattered all over. Mostly small blues with some briusers mixed in. Even got a baby flattie. I missed alot of nice fish which I coulda swore were bass. Then I got a 25 inch bass and 2 bigger ones followed him up.
Kept looking for that 34 plus and got a 30 something, not 34.
Came home a bloody mess. Brought some 5-10 lb blues home for my compadres. Had two nice weakies later. Found a pod with spikes and a couple 18 plus.

fish were filled with butterfish and peanut bunker and a smelt lookin' thing in em. striper was skinny and empty.

Big blues on IBSP.
Fished from 10:30 to 6:30pm.
Blues ran around 10 lbs.
They turned off around 2:30.
Waited til dusk, then threw plugs. I caught 3 stripers--29",27" & 24". I threw them back.

I saw Hacker catchin' up the blues this morning.
Good job!!

Blues, Blues and more Blues
Had over 50 yesterday north of IBSP on plugs. All were between 5-15lbs. Saw one that had to be over 20lbs caught by a kid. Just one slot bass in the mix and a 5 lb weakfish flopping in the wash by itself (probably got scared). Non-stop action for 3 and 1/2 hrs. Lot of fun

Jeff
