Headed out with Keys Kid. Hit OC in the boat last night with artificals. Put in at 8 left at 1. Had 1,386,000 really small bass. Action was constant but size was dissapointing. Was a beautiful night.

JC, There usually are smaller fish around but there seems to be A LOT this year. We usually get some decent fish mixed in but I cant say that about last night...most were 12" biggest was around 22-23. There are bigger fish around other areas but we wanted to hit OC. I know the backwater there well and didnt have a lot of time. It was a really good outing despite the lack of LARGE. Im sure some eels would do the trick but thats not my deal.

Fished a Central Jersey beach this am.....surf has really flattened out quite a bit.....Got one bluefish (4#) right away on a teaser, then nothing until sunrise.....switched to a Hopkins, and got 7 bass, all around 23-25"......couldn't find any large, but the action was consistent.....nice to get some bass in the surf....tight lines-----Mike

Fished IBSP today from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. I had 1 slot 24" and 5 from 20" to 22". They were hitting clam very soft. I saw one other guy on the beach catching and he was holding is rod. So I held on to mine and starting catching instantly. I must have missed 10 other fish. I didn't see anybody catch a bass with the rod in the spike. Beautiful day!!

Before this season ends miserably... someone tell me what happened to CISP.

Last year, about this time... I was about 4 for 4 (4 keepers in 4 outings), with the best night before Thanksgiving and catching keepers into December.

This Spring was great... averaging 1 keeper fish per 2 outings to 1 fish per 3 outings...

This Fall has been horrible! I'm in a slump! 1 keeper fish in about 10 to 12 outings (with a lot of shorts in there that don't count!).

I don't get it. Water temp. is good, weather is good.

Only thing I've noticed is the current isn't as swift as it used to be (I seem to do better with a brisk current), and a lot of times, the water was cloudy.

Did the structure change @ CISP? Anyone know? Do the holes changes frequently around there?

I could sum up my last 10-12 reports in this one message... 1 keeper, then skunks, with a few shorts thrown in here and there.

Just looking through other reports, for land-based backbay fishermen... doesn't seem like there are many large fish thus far.. Is the run over? Did I miss the run? Did the fish skip the backbays?

South of CI has changed dramatically also from two weeks ago. There were some real nice sloughs, bars and holes. The whole thing was basically flattened out from last weeks NE. If somebody is missing sand I found it, you can have it back. Still some nice areas just seems flatter. At least 6" of new sand up on the beach.

Fished yestarday early AM. Two shorts about 22" on clams. Wouldn't touch any plug or lure I through and believe me I tried. Took the clams immediately, then I had to leave.

Fished for a few hours last night with Casting
Disaster. We tried a bridge first and messed
around with shorts. As the tide changed we
moved along the banks. It was very dead in
back. We worked hard for 2 bass...24" & 30". As
we were leaving we saw bagman and his friend on
a pre stalker warmup trip. I hope you guys did
well. I'm sure we'll hear from you soon.

Great Day Today,,And A Beautiful One To Boot....
I spent a solid 10 hours in the salt and found
plenty of action to keep me busy and happy....
Started off in CapeMay Co.,Before Sunrise and
Found Some Mudd Bass On The Feed During The Out-Going
Tide.Took awhile for them to show Up,but once
they did they were all over my Storms...
Batted a 1000 landing (7)Stripers on (7)Hits
running 28",28",32",33",35",35" and a Sweet 37"er.
Once It Got Light Out,They Took Off Quick...
Here's A Few Shots Before They Were Released

I then Drove North about 50 miles to the
Ocean Co.,Surf Based on Reports of Peanut Bunker
There and I Quickly Found Them and Bluefish
On The Attack..Strange Bite Though,Very Tuff
To Get These RazorLips To Bite Anything
Artificial.Me and about 10 other guys threw
everthing at these breaking fish within range
of us right off the surfline, they were really
keyed into the bait.I finally found out the
best way was to snag a peanut then let it lay
on the bottom, after seeing some baitcasters
landing some with the live bait and it worked
out well as I landed a nice one and lost a
couple others..ALot of Fun Chasing These Fish
,I didn't Have To Move Much We Had A Stretch
of about 50yards where the pods Kept Moving
North Past Us for a Good 3 hours in some
good looking water..
Here's a PIC of a Snagged PeanutBunker
and What Was After Them Today

Gave it another try today. 8:30 to 2:30pm and not a thing except a skate and 12" sundial.
Did see 4 shorts come in between 6 fisherman on the beach.
Tried metal and plugs also.
Don't believe anyone even saw a blue either.
I'll give it one more try next tuesday......
