The Calender Said Spring,But the Conditions I
Found over the Weekend Still Said Winter.......

I Fished The Ocean Co. Area,Wetting A Line for
the First Time This Year Looking For Some
Striper's..I had some good Out-Going Water but
it was still cold (40Degrees)and Dirty from the
Previous Days Snowy Weather....
But It Was Good To Get Some Casting In from over
a 2 Month Layoff,I wasn't expecting too much
throwing some New Storm Lures,I really just wanted
to break in My New St.Croix 8'Tidemaster and I
wasn't dissapointed on how it felt....
I did find that the Winter Flounder Bite Is Still
On around the area,Most Boaters Getting Out During
The Breaks In Those HighWinds managed some nice
catches over the weekend.. And Around A WarmWater
Discharge some Local Short Stripers Have Been
Caught.....

We Should Get A WarmUp in the Water Temps This
Week with over night lows staying above freezing
and with some Sunshine during the day will make
conditions more favorable for a Striper Bite...
Action South of the Del.Bay is still pretty quiet
also, but April is just 11 days away, and that really is my offical start to the New Season..
Can't Wait....

Fished Sunday the 21st near CISP. Put a couple of hours in from about 12:30-2:30 and caught the bottom of the tide. Fished blood worms on a fishfinder rig. Complete skunk but still nice to be outside and have some peace and quiet.

I "rivered it " last night. Actually ran into some Herring. Perhaps the sunlight won out yesterday and the push upstream is getting stronger.

If I had said which river would that have ruffled any feathers?? I have taken some heat for mentioning inlets and sounds, but they seem like areas to me???

Dr.Bass.Mentioning River's,Inlet's Etc.Should
be Fine ie: GreatEgg Rv.Mullica Rv,Corson's Inlet
,ColdSpring Inlet..We Are All Well Aware of the
Great Spot Debate..What I would Like to See Kept
Out of These Reports On This Fishing Report Thread
are the Exact Name Spots/Area's like
Street Names,Bridge Names,Jetty Names,Channel
Names and names of Towns..
I think that about
cover's what people get upset about...
I plan on just posting this year what County
I Am Fishing in Like:
The Beaches of Ocean County.
The Bridges In Atlantic County.
Off The Sodbanks of CapeMay County...
On The Rocks in CapeMay County....
I believe most people can get the idea on
whats happening where and this way it will not
start a FlameWar about overcrowding a SPOT....

If I Find That Some Reports Give A Little Too
Much Detail Like Nameing A Exact Location/Area/
Spot Etc.,I will Edit It and Send That Person
A Private Email Explaining The Situation...
It Happens,Most Members Are Aware of This But
I know We Have Many New Members That Do Not
Know...It Will Work Itself Out...

Thanks,,

Spent a few hours fishing bloods from the beach in Cape May area on Saturday. W**d was brutal. I had one good run-off but didn't hook up (too slow on hook set). Pulled a couple of skates after that. But it sure felt good to be out there!!!

Started out shopping and eating in Cumberland County. Had a little action, Sports Glasses for my son and dinner @ a undisclosed resturant south of Vineland. I spent the rest of Saturday night sleeping in Atlantic County with no action. Gotta try a nicer resturant next time.Hopefully the action gets better next week!

Strikes! Was that OK? :D

Fished the OC/Longport area tonight for an hour or so. The air was very cold and the layers of fleece I got from sig. other for Christmas really worked well

Threw the usual plugs, tried out a new spool of PPro 15 lb. -- not bad...

Water was moving moderately fast, dirty, no sign of life...

Nice crisp night though....

Well, I just got back and nothing was happening. It was a nice night, a lot warmer near the water then back at home.

While strolling the waters at the Cape May County / Atlantic County border last night, I came across HERRING!!!! Yes, first spotting of them in water of higher salienity content. They are here guys. Beautiful sight in the clear water. They were schooled nicely. Making their characteristic sardine like flash as they passed me by. I often imagine a diver underwater looking back at me and snapping a polaroid. They were small, 3-4 inchers, I once heard that the larger ones follow, then the bass.

Hey Steve good to see the you up and running!
While things have been slow, looks like we are finally over this long cold winter....

Wednesday: Sunny to partly cloudy. High 56F.
Thursday: High around 60F. Winds SSW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50%.
Thursday night: Overcast. Low near 50F.
Friday: Occasional showers. Highs in the low 70s and lows in the low 50s.
Saturday: Partly cloudy. Highs in the low 60s and lows in the low 40s.
Sunday: Mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the mid 50s and lows in the low 40s.
Monday: Mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the low 60s and lows in the low 40s.
Tuesday: Mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the low 60s and lows in the low 40s.

Now if the wind could stop blowing, we may actually catch some fish. I have a feeling we're real close! :D
