Willie is right again!

Was catching short bass working a mirror lure tight along the bank sun a.m incomming. Changed locations looking for weaks without success.

Returned to same spot outgoing and Nada. Hasn't been a banner week except for a 12# weakie but everything I did catch was on incomming water.

Fished sunday night, caught 2 fish. Both fish were decent but nasty. I am having problems accessing my pictures, will post when I figure out the problem. both on eels and on the incoming tide. I ran into another boat late saturday night who said there was bunker everywhere, I asked if he ment PB but he said they were about 14 inches long. I was pumped to run into them but it never happen. Did anybody see schools of bunker in the Cape May area this weekend.

Yes, in the surf. About that size exactly. These are not the PB's from what I am used to. Back bay PB's not around yet. Water sure is warm enough for God sake. Shiners have been really bunching up around docks and marsh. Just not much crashing them

I snagged one in the surf this weekend in SH, and didn't know what to think. I casted out into a HUGE school of bait that you could see boiling on the surface just off of the beach (probably 150 yards long and 50 yards wide), and reeled in as fast as I could. Hooked it in the noggin, so he died instantly and I didn't have a chance to live line him.
I thought it was a sea herring until I saw the post. I didn't realize they got that big...

eelball,

Did you liveline or chunk. Were the bunker thick enough to snag or did you use a throw net. By the way, awesome fish and pic. That is two happy faces. Did you weigh those fish, just curious on the weight.

We were snagging them. They were very thick. Snagged one every cast. And if it came off, then you snagged another before retrieving. We chnked them. There were bass breking on the bunker at dusk.
20lb book ends. per boga

Nice bass, nice bass guys

You were right
, those pics should keep the juices flowing, thanks

I too got into the bunker today, live-lined up a 34 and that was it. Broad daylight. Was thinking of Hip so I released it to fight another day(Still have a done in the freezer actually :D )

Thought it might have been cowtime but not today  .

First time live-lining the adults like that. Think I had more fun catching the bunker. They were all adults, 10-14 inches.

Take Care

The END has to be near, men.... I wanted to get out several nights last week, instead I found myself stuffing favors for the wedding.... gads!

Finally got out tonight... the tide was not good for me, very slack and outgoing... fished plugs and plastics... 1 small hit on a pink zoom...nothing landed... chatted with another fisherman, he had no luck either...

Last fish caught was a 31"er, 2 Fridays ago...on a white zoom..

This weekend looks promising....

Good night tonight.

Perfect conditions and yes PB's are in the back. About 10 blues, a touch bigger and 2 spikes. Thank God. All back to fight another day. Couple of big splashes, but no bass for me tonight on chunked fresh caught bunker and eels.
