Probably going out with a buddy in cape may to fish the rips. I was planning on bringing a heavy sinking line and some big flies. Anybody have any other recommendation for fishing in this situation?

I have had good luck with Super sized Clousers. I use extra large hooks and the biggest barbell eyes I can find. Cast up current and strip out line as the fly come towards you and sinks. You can strip it up and let it out until it gets too far infront of you. Most of the fish are caught deep near the bottom. Good Luck. The clearer the water in the rips you can find the better, but I have caught in pretty murky water.
